Italian designer Maurizio Galante was born in 1963 in Latina. Active in fashion for over 30 years, he designs creations that have become contemporary icons - sculptural objects intended to spark discussion and arouse emotion. Galanti first studied architecture, later graduating from the Costume and Fashion Academy in Rome. These two aspects of his education are ever-present in his work, allowing him to create an unprecedented mix of different disciplines. In 1987, he had the opportunity to present his ready-to-wear collections in Milan and, since 1991, in Paris, where he resides permanently. Galante designed costumes for opera performances in collaboration with prominent international directors and leading institutions like the Piccolo Teatro in Milan, the Rome Opera and the Spoleto Festival.

In 2003, he founded the company Interwave with Tal Lancman, the trend forecaster and designer.
Their work mixes fashion and design, cross-pollinating the two fields with surprising results.
Although fashion remains his main activity, he has created a large number of design objects, likes the series of Murano glass lamps for Veronese; the original Gagà stainless steel sideboard; the elegant canopy bed for Opinion Ciatti; sophisticated table accessories for Driade inspired by antique lace; the incredible Canapé Cactus for Baleri Italia, an ironic and amusing vegetable-shaped sofa. His creations are part of the permanent collections of some of the world's most important museums, among which the Victoria & Albert Museum in London; Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris; Fondation Cartier in Paris; the Museum of Modern Art in New York; the Triennial Design Museum in Milan; Centre Pompidou in Paris. Together with Tal Lancman, he is the general curator of MUDAM, Luxembourg Museum of Modern Art.
