Born in Milan in 1972, designer and architect Matteo Ragni obtained his degree in Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Milan. Since 1994, he has been involved in design in the broadest sense of the term. In addition to his activities as art director, architect and professor at various national and international universities, Ragni's focus is mainly on product design. Over the years, he has established many fruitful collaborations with different furniture and accessory companies.
Clean design combined with function and technological innovation distinguishes his work. Ragni never deviates from the values of his clients, always working in close contact with them.

In 2001 at only 29, he was one of the youngest designers to receive the Compasso d'Oro for Moscardino, multifunctional and biodegradable disposable cutlery (it is both a fork and a spoon). Designed for Pandora Design with Giulio Iacchetti, Moscardino is now in the MoMa permanent collection in New York. Again with Giulio Iacchetti, he received a second Compasso d'Oro in 2014 for the manhole covers designed for Montini. Thanks to decorative patterns imprinted on the surface, Ragni met the challenge of adding a designer touch to an ordinarily anonymous and unnoticed object. In 2015, the HUB system, designed by Ragni for Fantoni, won the Good Design Award. This modular, flexible, customisable, and changeable office furniture system is suitable for the new smart working era. Among the many other brands with which he has collaborated are Abet Laminati, Linvisibile, Alpi, Jannelli&Volpi, Twils, Very Wood.

Thanks to his projects and installations for Camparisoda, Matteo Ragni is included in the volume published by Corraini for the 100th anniversary of Futurism, "Camparisoda: l'aperitivo veloce futurista, da Fortunato Depero a Matteo Ragni". Again for Corraini, he edited "Il manuale di metodologia progettuale", a real pocket guide on the secrets of becoming a successful designer. He has also been the subject of numerous exhibitions. In 2013, the Toronto exhibition "Matteo Ragni: Almost 20 Years of Design" was dedicated to his work. In 2015, the personal exhibit, "Matteo Ragni: Design for Better Days", was shown during the Tianjin International Design Week.
