Collection: Zaven
Zaven is a Venice design studio founded in 2006 by Enrica Cavarzan and Marco Zavagno, both with degrees in Industrial Design from the IUAV University of Venice. The office works in the fields of art, architecture, design, art direction and communications, creating furniture, installations, product and exhibition design, and graphics. A distinctive factor in Zaven's success is their ability to develop collaborations with prestigious brands and institutions like Atipico, Fabrica, Fondazione Claudio Buziol, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Fondazione Sindika Dokolo, HelloVenezia, IUAV Università di Venezia, La Biennale di Venezia, Miniforms, Nike Italia, Replay Jeans, Università Ca' Foscari.
Zaven created the Rise family of Cristalplant washbasins in round, oval and console versions for Kos by Zucchetti. For Texturae, they designed a series of washable wallpapers with optical effects inspired by the aurora borealis. The Zo and Chipo handmade carpets for CC-Tapis are inspired by traditional African masks. For Novamobili , they created the Float collection consisting of a bedside table, sideboard and chest of drawers; Fly with a table and small table; the Stretch extending table; and the Sunny round dining table.
Zaven crafted a tribute to the ceramist and designer Nino Caruso for the London Design Festival. The project was later industrialised by Cedit Ceramiche d'Italia (a brand that is part of the Florim group), a company with which the firm established a solid partnership leading, in 2018, to the creation of Rilievi porcelain stoneware tiles with a three-dimensional sculptural effect surface. The collection won numerous awards like the iF Design Award, the Red Dot Award, the 2018 ADA Archiproducts Design Award and the NYCxDesign Award. With Giorgio Biscaro and Matteo Zorzenoni, Zaven promotes the Something Good project, a research collective devoted to design and communications. Zaven's work is published in the most authoritative design magazines and displayed in such museums and exhibitions as The New Italian Design at the Triennale in Milan, Meet Design (Rome and Turin) and several times at the London Design Festival and Designer Days in Paris. In 2011, the studio won the Macef Design award and the Festival Città Impresa award.
