Collection: Marie-Aurore Stiker-Métral
Born in Paris in 1981, she graduated from Ensci-Les Ateliers in 2007. These designer studies followed 4 years of philosophy studies at Paris X- Nanterre University and at Urbino University in Italy. During her studies at Ensci she obtained a scholarship for her "La Pliée" chair, now edited by Ligne Roset. She was awarded, along with Felipe Ribon, the first Prize in the Véolia Eau Compétition for the Glow Worm Glass (Le Verre-Luisant). The subject of her Thesis, supervised by Philippe Louguet, was “The Paradoxes of Discretion” and her Degree Project, supported by Erwan Bouroullec, explored “domestic techniques” (sewing, embroidery, lace, macramé, weaving, braiding etc) in order to create furniture with numerically cut out wooden structures and textile surfaces (storage furniture, fireside chair, lamp). This project won the Audi Talents Awards in 2010 and is destined to be further developed in collaboration with industrial partners during the coming year. Her collaboration with Ligne Roset has continued with the collection "Les Pliés" (2009) and the carpet "Entrelacs" (2010). From 2009 to 2010, she worked for the Nathalie Crinière Agency on the project for the scenography of the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
