Inoda + Sveje is a design duo comprising Kyoko Inoda, born in Osaka in 1971, and Nils Sveje, born in Denmark in 1969. Inoda studied architectural design at ISAD in Milan. Sveje graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture. Sveje moved to Italy where he worked under Stefano Giovannoni, and then returned to Denmark. While working at the Institute of Product Development (IPU) Sveje joined forces with Inoda and formed Inoda + Sveje in Copenhagen in 2000. They moved their base of operations to Milan in 2003. In addition to furniture and other product design, Inoda + Sveje is involved in other fields such as medical devices and speakers.
The INODA+SVEJE Gallery was established as an innovative design and top quality furniture store in the heart of Milano’s most charming neighborhood, Brera. The INODA+SVEJE Gallery was established in 2013 by Kyoko Inoda and Nils Sveje. INODA+SVEJE is the industrial design studio behind most of the creations in the gallery but have also worked as consultants in other projects mainly in the fields of medical equipment and renewable energy for international corporations.
The gallery consists of a wide space with design furniture, in high quality wood and textiles, that delights all senses. Most of the furniture exhibited are designed by INODA+SVEJE and by other international designers, from Denmark to Japan and India, in collaboration mainly with Miyazaki Chair Factory, Karimoku furniture and Phantom Hands. We produce all furniture by order in the best wood types available. The philosophy of the showroom is to offer an inspiring place. A place to find the type of luxurious furniture that has a special touch, and incredible attention to shape and detail and a mixed aesthetics, based on the oriental and Scandinavian inspirations, that can find place in all homes, and become the centre of attention for their beauty or part of the decoration for their organic and simple cared shape. The store holds a wide variety of contemporary products within furniture and traditional Danish lighting “Louis Poulsen”.
