Collection: Frank Huster

Frank Huster, born in 1939, completed his studies of architecture and interior design in Stuttgart. In a shared office with Peter Hübner, from 1970 to 1978 he also worked on developing cardboard toys, folded structures, and cardboard screens for the Munich Olympics. In his own architectural and development office, he concentrated on prefabricated construction systems made of steel and plastic, then on prefabricated wet cells, sustainable product concepts and barrier-free building. Within the framework of his professorship in the design faculty of the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences, from 1985 to 2006 he gave a series of lectures on construction-specific design and technical installations. In 1993, Frank Huster created Architec for Duravit, a ceramic programme for public and semi-public areas that remains successful and continues to be expanded. In 2009 the Duraplan range of shower trays that fit flush with the floor followed.
