Collection: Cristina Celestino

Cristina Celestino was born in Pordenone in 1980 and obtained her degree in Architecture from the IUAV University of Venice in 2005. After an apprenticeship with Massimo Carmassi in Florence, she moved to Milan in 2010, where she started working for Sawaya & Moroni. In 2011, Celestino founded Attico Design, with which she produces handmade objects, including lamps and furniture, conceived as works of art. She is a consultant and creative director for such companies as Bottega Nove, Billiani and Fornace Brioni. She collaborates with iconic fashion brands; for Sergio Rossi, she designed the via Montenapoleone boutique and for Fendi the "The Happy Room" collection on the occasion of DesignMiami in 2016.

Architect, designer, creative director and collector, Cristina Celestino faces design on several scales, based on wise and rigorous aesthetic exploration, multidisciplinarity and the combination of the past and the contemporary, tradition and invention, art, design and craftsmanship. She has undertaken numerous collaborations with design companies. Particularly notable are the products created for Maison Matisse: the Colette rattan sofa and chauffeuse; the Ombrage and Reflet beechwood screens; the Bianca coffee table and bench; the Louise double-sided throw; the Automne terracotta container line; the Paysage au Soleil handmade carpet; and the wallpaper line. For Saba Italia, she designed the modular sofa in Gala fabric. For Billiani, she created a seating line that includes armchairs, chairs, sofas, small armchairs, sofas and stools in beech or ash with soft and harmonious forms. Her fruitful collaboration with Tonelli Design resulted in the Opalina glass furniture line composed of a wall-mounted coat rack, vanity unit, stool, coffee table, console and desk.

For Fornace Brioni, she created the Giardino delle Delizie collection, comprising three variants of 3D terracotta cladding inspired by Renaissance nymphaea. In 2016, she received the Special Jury Prize "Salone del Mobile. Milano Award"; in 2017 the International Elle Decor Design Award; in 2019, the Archiproducts Design Awards and the Edida by Elle Décor; and in 2020, she was named designer of the year by the Wallpaper* Design Award. In 2018, for Brera Design District - of which she was designated ambassador - she invented Tram Corallo, a restyling of the interiors of the historic 1928 Milanese tram that, on the occasion of the Fuorisalone, crossed the streets of Brera decorated with the velvets, carpets and trimmings of yesteryear. The following year, in 2019, during Miart and Fuorisalone, she created an installation for the historic Milanese Cucchi café.
