Dedicated to producing a variety of original designs that are both contemporary and functional, Bodo Sperlein showcases an appreciation of craft combined with the use of high quality materials. Working with several global, luxury brands alongside his own product lines, Bodo's designs are internationally renowned, and consistently attract international praise. Trained at University of the Arts London, Bodo established his studio in 2000 after being awarded the Sainsbury’s Scholarship and Crafts Council Grant, and cemented his reputation by designing home accessory collections for London’s iconic fashion store Browns. Alongside Bodo Sperlein ltd, he also held the position as the creative director for esteemed technology brand Loewe from 2016-2018.
Bodo’s repertoire includes collaborations and commissions across a multitude of industries, from furniture and lighting to technology and fashion. He continuously collaborates with leading manufacturers to create unique works, showcasing versatility in every piece. His ceramics and tableware collections are also appreciated by numerous Michelin-star restaurants worldwide, including The Five Fields and Yauatcha.
Bodo Sperlein works with a variety of prolific interior designers including Peter Marino and several global, luxury brands including the LVMH group, alongside his own product lines. His passion for materials, from silver and bronze to wood and stone, and sensitivity to aesthetics ensure that his work consistently attracts international praise by the design-world’s leading publications. He has won several esteemed design awards and his works of art and design are represented in distinguished, international galleries such as Les Ateliers Courbet in New York, Andreas Murkudis in Berlin and 88 Gallery in London. His designs are in the permanent collection of a multitude of design museums including the prestigious Die Neue Sammlung in Munich.
