Collection: Atelier BL119
Grégory Blain and Hervé Dixneuf, graduates of ESAD in Saint-Etienne, began working together in 2007 and founded the Blain-Dixneuf atelier. Their designs arise from multiple influences, always seeking harmony between form and function. Not working in a defined way, the projects appear through a lack of something, a desire to test a material, explore new uses, revisit objects or design them in another way. Atelier BL119's objects leave out the superfluous, finding solutions in the détail; the goal is to remain simple and in the right form. Being the two of them allows them to compare their respective points of view and learn to exchange, pragmatically directing their thinking to create singular, useful and surprising objects.
They were finalists of "Bourse Agora" in 2007, and in 2008 they won the Cinna "Concours révélateur de talents" in the decoration objects category with "The Niche." Selected for the Design Parade festival, in Villa Noailles in 2009, today they continue to develop new projects for brands, companies and design manufacturers such as Cinna-Ligne Roset, Muuto, Bernard Chauveau, Manganèse Editions, CIAV Meisenthal, Cristallerie Saint-Louis, etc.
