Collection: Antonio Bonet Castellana
Antonio Bonet Castellana (1913-1989) was an architect, urban planner and designer whose work touched on the various processes typical of modern culture. An emblematic figure on the artistic and architectural scene in the 1930s, he founded Grupo Austral in Argentina with colleagues Juan Kurchan and Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy, with whom he designed the iconic BKF chair. Antonio Bonet integrated the different scales of the human habitat, using new materials and experimenting with new forms, so that his architecture and furniture served society. For him, a building was like a piece of furniture and a piece of furniture could be considered as a building, which made it difficult at times to separate his architectural projects from his furniture and design projects.
