Born 20th November 1969. Lives and works in Paris. Having obtained a degree in Lettres et Arts, Alban Gilles continued his studies in Jean-Claude Maugirard's furniture training workshop at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, Paris. On leaving ENSAD in 1998, he met Didier Gomez, with whom he works on a freelance basis, overseeing high-end projects; he also works on the same basis for a number of prominent manufacturers. At the same time, he designs pieces for manufacturers such as Cinna and Design Affairs; his Fifty-Fifty armchair was awarded a 'label des industries de l'ameublement' on its launch at the Salon du Meuble of 1997. His creations for Ligne Roset include the Neo rocking chair (2002), and the Jul et Jil armchairs (2006). He has participated in numerous events and exhibitions, and in 2004 opened his own interior architecture and design agency in Paris.
