컬렉션: Sandi Renko

Sandi Renko was born in Trieste in 1949, of Italian-Slovenian origin. He starts his art practice at the local Nordio Arts Institute, where his teachers are the sculptor Ugo Carà, the designer Marcello Siard, and Miela Reina and Enzo Cogno, young representatives of the avant-garde art in Trieste. In the early Seventies Renko moves to Padua to establish a studio in interior design, visual communication and art direction. He works for leader companies in the production of furniture, lighting and objects. In Padua he meets Edoardo Landi. Inspired by the artistic and intellectual context marked by the Gruppo N experiences in Kinetic and Programmed Art, he participates in collective shows, happenings and events, strengthening his affinity for Programmed and Optical Art, thus defining his artistic language and his personal technique.

In the course of time he devotes himself to design and art with equal precision and method, with creations of great elegance and balance in both fields. Supported by Alberto Biasi he intensifies his art production and exhibits it in group shows with Sara Campesan, Franco Costalonga, and Jorrit Tornquist and in several individual expositions in Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Croatia and Slovenia. Renko lives and works between Padua and Trieste; lover of silent spaces and open horizons, he seeks them by ascending the mountains or sailing across the seas.
