Phil Luithlen (Leicester/United Kingdom, 1974) ‘Non designer’ Phil Luithlen lives and works in Leicester (GB). He nurses the ambition to create an esthetically sophisticated setting, yet functional for the contemporary living, which was one of the guiding ideas of the Bauhaus. The comparison is not accidental. Just as most of the students and teachers at the Bauhaus did not take a straightforward course of training, also Phil Luithlen was not trained as a designer but as a scientist and craftsman, and he never imagined he would devote himself to interior design.
