Collection: Simon Busse
After training as a craftsman, Simon Busse studied Industrial Design at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart and at the Design Academy Eindhoven under Richard Hutten and Gijs Bakker. Stations in Barcelona at the Gonzalo Milá design studio and the Xavier Claramunt architecture firm confirmed him to found his own studio in 2005. Since then, the studio has been designing and developing projects ranging from serial industrial products to individual furniture objects and staged spaces. The range of tasks is as varied as the scale and the clients: security concepts and products are created for Abus, furniture for the office area for deSede, exhibitions for the state of Baden-Württemberg and in the Workhouse by USM, Simon Busse dived into spatial concepts of future working environments in an unconventional setting with his workshop guests.
The studio's work has been published many times in print and online magazines such as Financial Times, Detail, Stylepark, Icon, Grid and Design Report, and has won awards and been exhibited internationally. Teaching has become another important focus for Simon Busse over the years. That is why he has been a lecturer at international universities since 2011 and passes on his experience in workshops, seminars and design consultancy - since 2021 as Visiting Professor of Industrial Design at Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Applied Sciences.
